Small gold coins

Hello, I am looking to purchase my first gold coin and I am looking for one that is small and was meant to be circulated. For example, the United States $1 Gold  Dollar, Prussian 5 Mark, etc...

Anyone else have any suggestions? I've tried looking through Numista but it seems like some information on coins, or the coin itself, has been deleted from the catalogue.

i'd suggest Belgium or France 20 francs : much easier to find at gold value than e.g. the 5 francs

There is also the UK half sovereigns which you can pick some up for bullion value.

At 2.24 grams of 0.900 gold, with a bit of luck and the exception for high-grade specimens they can be found online at prices close to spot.
Highest mintage year was 1901 at 109,186.

Gold fanams are really small, and therefore have cheap prices. Still they are interesting  gold coins.

The small Mexican peso coins are usually pretty cheap
