Quote: Coin HoarderAgain, I don't disbelieve you! And now you explain what to look for I can see the logic in your conclusion. I wondered how one might start to be suspicious about ancient coins, which I never buy because I wouldn't know a fake from a real one.Quote: Matt ProbertHey Matt,Quote: Coin HoarderYea thats a fake. How can you be so sure from a photograph? I obviously can never be 100% without holding it myself, but I have had the pleasure of holding a few of these authentically. I was not sure with the first set of pictures (only suspicious) but the second set had me looking.
The material was the first red flag. As 0grams states it is strangely round. I have never seen one this round. from what is shown there is practically no waring to it. It looks cast, not struck. If you have look at the link below you can see a large list of authentic s to compare:

Also when compared to a variation of a know fake there is a striking resemblance.
Again I can not be 100% from a photo, but it is safe to say that this coin does not look right, and I sure wouldn't buy it if I saw it for sale as genuine.
Simply my opinion to 0grams is that this coin is suspicious, and I would consider it a fake.
Thanks Matt.
Cheers!!
