Good to know it's arrived Jim, I trust you will like it. I put a fair bit of thought into it, referring to both your collecting interests and your current collection to find a suitable gap to fill.
Non illegitimis carborundum est.  Excellent advice for all coins.
Make Numismatics Great Again!
Wouldn't it just annoy the hell out of you if you bought one between now and Christmas, not knowing that you already had one sitting in an envelope under your Christmas tree?

2 Hryvni (Kharkiv Zoo) received yesterday from MAG-903 in Ukraine. Thank you!

BTW, my mother was born in Kharkiv so its a coin very close to my heart!
Someone else will feel the Christmas. My postman gave me this today. It was opend before and was empty, what a pitty :). But thanks anyway and Happy Christmas.,

The one I sent hasn't even been processed at Mexico City (which it is still inside the normal time). Hopefully if it gets processed before the 20th; it will surely reach Europe before the holidays.
The super slow part is inside Mexico. Once in MXC the speed is comparable to any other  advanced metropoli... inside the country is a very different story.

Slovenia - 2 Euro (Emona - Ljubljana) received from veveria - thank you!

Its must be cool to live in the Eurozone with so many 2 Euro CC's in circulation! And they make perfect gifts!

:8D Hey Peter!
I'm still waiting you to confirm our swap!
I'm also willing to get this coin :D

Got mine!

I'm probably not the easiest guy to find a present for so I'm very appreciative of an old friend Michel (mic-24-nl) taking so much trouble to find the perfect gift, a 1724 halfpenny. Not only does it fill an album slot, it's a series I was lacking entirely. Thank you Michel, also for the other gifts including chocolate coins, which I'm sure would have been delicious if I'd eaten them before Abby found them.

In the same delivery I got another Christmas present right out of the blue from Mark. A couple of nice coins and a crisp 10 bob note, perfect timing because I gave the one I had to Daryl earlier this month. Karma is quite real eh?

As you may imagine, I'm very pleased to be among such kind and decent people. I love Christmas.

Dad called me and said that something arrived from England !  :)  :)

I think its my Santa !  :)

<:D
Received!!!!! Thank you, dear Jim !
My gift arrived. I will wait until Christmas morning to open it.
Thank you Dmitry.
Whoow, I hope I don't make to many of you jealous, I received today a beautifull silver first serie 10€ coin from France packed in a tradition Christmas gift(sorry, I couldn't wait till Christmas to open it), from, for me a new collector, Santa 'Opannob'
Thanks very much for this big gift, Gilles!!!

hi Phil,
It was a pleasure to have you!
And I'm happy I found something you like.(and to be quick honest, the chocolade wasn't that good ;-))
Looks like the Christmas spirit is spreading, I got a nice coin in the mail from Dptashny yesterday and I wasn't even his nominated person. Thanks for the thought.
Im worrying about my "santoid" ... Hope he will receive his x-mas gift before x-mass :)

You're welcome! I sent out a couple of Christmas gifts but yours is the first to arrive.
The one I sent finally cleared Mexico City and hopefully is flying to Sweeden this night. Looking good to get there right before the Xmas break on the Post offices.

Hey I got mind from JR069 back in nov. Have not open yet. Waiting for x-mas.
And thank you dptashny for your extra gift. I will PM you. Just so busy. But thank you all and have agood holiday
It is, what it is, or is it.
Although it doesn't really fall within the scope of the current topic, I'd like to share my excitement with you over the package received from dptashy this evening. Two of the Morelo pesos I'm so fond of along with several unused 3rd Reich and British Empire stamps which I didn't have. Dan has been very patiently waiting for me to complete a list of the gaps in my album so it was an intuitive good choice. Even the envelope had the civil war stamps on it which was a very thoughtful touch.

The real highlight though was a 10 cent stamp issued by The Glorious Confederate States of America.

For once I'm left speechless.

He still hasn't asnwered, but I just checked his collection list of Sweden and saw that he has marked it in his colelction, so I guess he has received it (unless he's a psychic and new which coin - and in which grade - he would get :P:wiz: )

You should get on board for the next one, I found this kind of activities pretty funny, I was expecting more funny comments from everyone but for some reason things are very polite...

Probably because phil did not manage to pull any rice from anyone, and my secret santa did not send me any fake pounds (;0

Using a translating tool I would say the last tracking spot said it left Romania. You're from USA, right? USPS still have no trace of this tracking number, so this can be explained by customs only.

However, can we consider it as mailed?

Why have rules if they cant be followed ?
If you can send a PM then why not just put +1 in the thread ?
I always find it a little odd when people choose to remain anonymous/ ignore rules, probably just my sceptical nature but the rules are clear for all to follow yet there is always one that slips through.
Maybe Frenchlover can explain how he got entered?

The package left Romania on 3 December. You should track it now on your country post office website. Anyway the things have changed, I sent letters with US destination and every time I was able to track them with USPS tracking service. Now, when I sent my Christmas letter to Walt, I tried to see if the letter arrived and USPS couldn't find my tracking number. I am happy that Walt received the letter but something is wrong with USPS tracking services, hope it's just now before holidays.
I wouldn't give up hope yet David, it's not at all unusual. Parcels are tracked using the system of the country of origin. When the arrive in the USA they either get held up for inspection by customs or they go on to a sorting facility. If the country uses a tracking system with compatible barcode scanners (Canada and most of Western Europe) then it's pretty straightforward but otherwise it can be a pretty lengthy wait. I guess that for non compatible mail it has to be manually entered. I have recently had an incoming parcel of stamps disappear from the radar for 6 weeks before it finally cleared and showed up again on the US tracking system.

If I recall correctly, once the parcel clears sorting / customs it can also be tracked via USPS.
Non illegitimis carborundum est.  Excellent advice for all coins.
