Japan / Netherlands East Indies [solved]

Hi

There are three coins listed under Japan as "Netherlands East Indies". Anyone know why these are listed under Japan and not Netherlands East Indies? Normally occupation coins are listed under the occupied country, right?

The comments says "almost the entire issue was lost or were remelted at the mint", were the rest used in Netherlands East Indies or in Japan or both? Or are these virtually non-circulating issues?
The legend 本日大 means Greater Japan, so these are probably territories of the Netherlands East Indies under Japanese rule/occupation. As you can see the coin were issued during the WWII.
Yes that's about as much as I had figured out, but you mean the difference is that it says Japan on the coin? If for example https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces14689.html had said "deutches reich" instead of "norge" it would have been listed under Germany, even if it was minted specifically for use in Norway?

Another difference I realize is that the japanese occupation coin has japanese currency (sen, I assume, even though it doesn't say so on the coin) while the german occupation coin has norwegian currency (öre), I guess that also makes a difference

Anyway, it's not important, it just makes my task to complete Japanese yen coins very much harder so I want them moved :P
Comments on the Numista pages indicate that the coins never made it to Netherlands East Indies so would not be correct to list them there. The only coins that exist must be those that stayed in Japan and were not remelted. I think there are some similar cases of French coins in World War II meant to be used in certain colonies but that did not make it out of France, perhaps due to shipping problems or the colonies may have been under Free French control at the time of minting.

Right, I see now that it already says that in the comment, I should get glasses... :)
