thanks for the reply ,I weighed it and it is 24.77 grams , I bought this from a member of BNTA and ANA so im really shocked by this, ive emailed him about it and he has is not replying. I just wanted to get a judgement on this so I could take it further and be confident it was a fake
I don't know weather its worth mentioning but the seam only goes about 2/3 the way around the edge. the reeding on the other part looks normal but looks as if it is slightly slanted? I don't know weather that helps or means anything but luckily I still have the receipt for this coin. would you say this was an honest mistake or is this something any dealer and indeed a novice like me should know and identify? I paid £53 so ive gone sick
hi I have tried sliding a neo magnet down the coin and it seems to go around the same speed as other silver coins of similar size and weight that I know to be real ,I also tried the ice test which it melts through quickly , a bit inconclusive. I have just never seen a coin with that strange edge before. I certainly would not have bought it if it had been pictured
Thanks for the video , im not sure what it is still , but aside from what its made of I need to know what that strange seam is and weather it is a sign of a fake which it looks like it is , ive also contacted the dealer again and hes refusing to acknowledge he even sold it to me to spite the receipt, also after some research this dealer was actually kicked out of the ANA even though he still uses the ANA logo, he was also banned from selling his coins at a large auction house in England so I am not hopeful I will get my money back. I guess this will have been an expensive lesson for me (im new to coin collecting) thanks for your help
The dealer I bought it from is telling me its a collar error? can anyone find such examples of collar errors in known coins or is this defiantly a fake?
