If you see this, you need to check your coin imaged here: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces9258.html It appears to be a fake.
No, he is from the french forum, one of our most kind and great collector's. Perhaps translate this to french and post it in the french forum.
Taking a break from swapping for a while, but still interested in pre 1799 Spanish coins, I will make time for that!

He's pretty sure of the authenticity of his coin. As apuking sais, probably low quality pics.

Here are examples of fake (top image) and real (bottom image):

Not only is this coin suspect, but all the other US 50c commemoratives he's listed look questionable to me. A scale would probably provide definitive proof.

Anything happening?
Hello,

2 things in here.

1. The authenticity of Patgav's coins. He has to deal with it. If he likes his coins, it is up to him.

2. The pics on our catalogue. It would probably not be that difficult for you guys to find better hi res pictures for the catalogue and offer them for the coin sheets :) Then something may happen ...

Regards, André

That's a long time ago! I've even pm'd Xavier offering to be interim referee for the USA to help clear it up :) (too lazy to do it full time)
Just for your information. We only recently managed to get rid of December backlog.... So, 17th April is surely not so long ago...

Yea, I guessed you were struggling with that one, which is why I sent Xavier the pm. Make steve27 help too!
Patrice was one of the very first people to welcome me to Numista and is quite rightly held in high regard. I hope he hasn't been burned by a bunch of Shanghai Specials.
Non illegitimis carborundum est.  Excellent advice for all coins.
