Since I had edit my swap collection at Numista, I get day by day swap offers. So I got a swap offer from a collector from Russian Federation. We aggree that we send the coins in registered mail. He anounced me a tracking number from the Russian Post. The coins for the russian partner has a value of 60 Euro.
A few days after the shipping the russian collector submited at Numista. His tracking number is unknown by the russion post. My mail with the coins has today arrived in the target city. So I be taken by a swindler.
Please contact BAM777 about this.

In the meantime I sincerely hope your coins do still arrive soon.

Perhaps it's to soon to call him/her a swindler, but I'm afraid for you that nothing is coming your way.
In that case it's a pity for you as a brand new Numista member.

I do have good swap experiences with Russian collectors, so swindlers are not country bound at all. They're simply everywhere.

Good luck next time.

How many(number)of feedback have the other member that you have the swap?
I recently made a purchase on ebay from a Russian dealer. Same scenario as yourself but, the coins made it here fine. Even after they arrived it still showed the package in-transit(?).

Best of luck!!
It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble.  It's what you know for sure, that just ain't so.  Mark Twain
I wouldn't have sent until the tracking number was checked and validated.

This is a big part of why I do not swap with random strangers. I do not feel it is worth the risk and my time. Much better to get to know who I will swap with on the forum first.

Hopefully it is all just a delay and error number and your coins will arrive safely.

You do have quite a few nice coins it would be a shame if your first swap got ruined by someone. I hope it all works out and you continue to swap here on Numista it really is great just try to stay with more established members until you get your feedback up and you should be good. Best of luck to you!

For me it's usually way better with international shipments than our Deutsche Post/ DHL website.

Fingers crossed you still get your shipment. Sometimes - for whatever reason - it just takes a little until the tracking ID is entered into the system.

If you feel more comfortable with a small domestic swap, check out my list.
I had the "unknown carrier" pop-up a few times for me when sending and also when receiving coins, usually it adds the carrier after a few days once the package reaches a larger checkpoint so it's possible the coins are on their way, hopefully this is the case.

Regardless of how the swap ends I hope you won't get discouraged and keep using Numista, the site offers a lot and would be a shame to leave it because of a single bad experience.
I collect and deal in ancient Roman coin. In case you're looking for affordable ancient coins or need any help with the coins you already have send me a message.
I'm from Russia.
in my first exchange I got cheated by a member from Portugal. I sent the coin, and he retired from the site, he had more than 50 comments!
Perhaps there should be a list of known swapper's that have an exceptional record. Especially for new members. Only swap with these members until you find your feet. And I would always start with something that if it does go missing you are not likely to miss it. A duplicate of low value. Unfortunately it taints the whole swap ideal because of the 1% moron who was born a thief and will always con people. Luckily it has only happened to me once in 25 years and that was a complete Washington quarter set. Sent to Italy and apparently the buyer never received it. Although it was signed for the other end and transit record said delivered. Ebay refunded the buyer his money. So I was out £150 and a coin set.
