metal ?

i would like this but i'm not sure if it's a good one and a fake.
i think it's this coin : https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces52524.html

please tell what do you think, and a value for this coin if possible .

thank you
Philippe
It's hard to say because ...

1 -- the catalogue picture is too small to read easily enough

2 -- the transcription of the legend misses the most important part for the coin collectors and for the numismatists, that is, the smaller legend going around the coin; the central legends are the usual Qur'anic formulations, as you can see in the catalogue's translation of those parts.

Still, yours was struck in Madinat al-Salam, which you can read at the bottom of the first picture; the legend from the top says:

بسم الله ضرب هذا الدرهم بمدينة السلام سنة

= "In the name of god this dirham was struck in Madinah al-Salam in the year ___. The year is spelled out (!) and difficult to read.

I suppose the Caliph's name is on the other side, but I can't read any of it.

I agree with Camerinvs, regarding the metal you can try with the density test: https://en.numista.com/numisdoc/measure-a-coin-s-density-27.html

The metal may be silver (or rather should be silver if this example is DIRHAM) if this turns out to be silver or copper mixture then it could be classified as FALS

The size and the weight corresponds to the monetary standard of the time
regarding the mint, it's a commom mint, Therefore in this condition (if the coin is real and not a modern forgery) its value is around $40 / 50
hello,
thank you for your help .
i will try the density test .

I think I have read the date:

بسم الله ضرب هذا الدرهم بمدينة السلام سنة اثنين وتسعين ومئة

In the name of God/Allah this dirham was struck in Madinat al-Salam in the year 192 ("two & ninety & one hundred"). The less secure part is "ninety" (تسعين) but I can't see no other number fit this space and those letters. And comparing with the catalogue, where it is (now) easier to read, that's the same number.

If I'm right, that would mean that, indeed, Philippe is right about is identification in the Catalogue, but his coin is from a different mint and has a different first numeral in the date. Strangely, I can't read neither in the catalogue.

Still, the first number of the coin in the catalogue has to be"1", "2" or "3". It looks like it can only be "1", so 191, but there's an extra letter that messes everything up ─ unless it's the form احدى for "1"?

Now if some Arabic speaker could confirm that and tell us what the mint is, I could edit the page.

Hello, often in the open market area of Athens i meet sellers that sell the coin of the photo of En Numista (Brilliant Silver)50euros.Good price for a coin.
Now your coin definetely not look for a silver coin.
In my opinion is Silver alloy- 50% silver/50%copper,thats why the collor of the patina near to brown.
Not fake from nowdays, because there is no interest for coins from Islamic states.
Probably imittation of the past or with the years change the purity of the silver for economical reasons.
Rare version of the coin.Really interesting.
If it pass the magnet test is sure silver alloy.
I would like to see an example5 Para - Abdülhamid II 1901.The coin turn to green from big precent of copper.
After all i believe that price of the specific coin higher from 50euros.
Regards.
