How-to question re: creating an everyone-can-edit post [solved]

7 posts
I have been looking at the names of coin denomination-words and am considering as a sideline to my regular collecting, to try to collect a representative example of every different one. It would help if I had a master list, both as a search tool to make sure I know what to look for, and also as a check-off list. Is there a way that I can start a post that other people can edit so I can benefit from the knowledge of the community?

For example, I am talking about words such as penny, pfennig, pfenning, pfennige, cents, centimes, thaler, vereinsthaler, schwaren, stuber, kreutzer, sechsling, groschen, sols, batz, and batzen, pence, shilling, kobo, naira, luma, dram, pice, tari, scudo, grani, and so on.

Thank you very much
That would be a pretty substantial list. The amount of different names just for the Indian States alone is mind boggling.

Yes. That's why I was thinking of one list rather than a large number of posts for people to sift through

Yes, but there will be a great many I will have to do without, simply because there will be ones beyond my budget. Also, the hunt for the coins would be fun. Having them all would be nice too, but the game would be over. (Admittedly it is an impossible goal.)

Perhaps it would be a good idea to sort such a list by country or other separator. That way there is a sense of achievement while the overall quest continues.
I can give you New Zealand's

penny
shilling
florin
half crown
crown
cent
dollar

It depends how specific you want to get after that. We had halfpenny, threepence and sixpence coins, but that is really 1/2 penny, 3 pennies and 6 pennies so I don't know if you would like to have them as separate entities or just leave them as a sub category of penny.
1- make a post as a list, people contribute in comments, you edit the main post and add the contributions
2- use google sheets

HERE are some denominations for your list
I guess it is true what they say - there aren't any new ideas, just new people thinking of them!
Thanks Idolenz, that's a great list. I'll go through it and see how many different words are on it.

Thanks AmerSalmeh, I guess I missed the obvious way to do it.

Thanks neilithic. I have a colleague who is from NZ, and he was born recently enough that he didn't know they had once used denominations such as shillings and florins.
