I have just bought this coin on eBay wchich purports to be 1 oz silver (40mm) and whilst it looks design wise like the ones in the numista catalogue and on line but doesn't bear a nomination i.e. 50 cents or a dollar .
Is it a fake The money I paid for it (was cheap ) suggest So . I wonder if it could simply be a token but a legitimate one , although I'm not sure the queens portrait appear on tokens.
I won't be unduly disappointed if it is because I didn't think it was anything else really .
Cannot tell without pictures - of what you bought and an original.
There are reproductions made for people who may not be able to afford originals;
for example, I bought this reproduction recently ...
as this below is rather expensive (but rather beautiful) ... https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces14363.html

The coin itself lies outright "1 oz 999 SILVER", but the eBay seller can claim to be truthful (the description says "silver plated". However, I feel this is dishonesty on the seller's part, offering a coin that is clearly an imitation of an actual silver bullion coin with a title of "Silver Coin". I don't know whether you can get your money back since they did say "silver plated" but I would not hesitate to leave negative feedback for this deceptive type of product and sale.
I suspected as much but I agree the seller didn't go out of his way to make clear it wasn't the real thing. I will think about feedback but like you said he could argue that description was accurate and diameter did match real one either and picture didn't show denomination
I shall be more careful next time ...
those more learned than I will know the Latin phrase but I believe it translates as ....
It says "Medallion" right in the title, so obviously it's not a coin. If it was a US ebay listing, I would have reported it, because it doesn't have the word "copy" on it, which is required under the Collectible Coin Protection Act.
