I just had a peek to see how the MPCC was going on the French forum. We've got over 40 votes for all of the categories over here (well done everyone for getting behind the competition by the way) On the French side there's only 7 votes for each category. I wonder if it's a reflection on the number of people who use this forum compared to the French one or if it just shows a lack of interest from the French forum.
I already saw the French side is less active than the English side. However, there may be less people posting during the week as well.

Interestingly, there are usually more postings for the monthly new coin purchases ("Additions to your collection" vs. "Vos acquisitions numismatiques") on the French than on the English side.

What??? they copied my thread idea? How dare they

I must admit I don't know whether you actually came up with the idea or not! If you did, that was an excellent idea.
If we compare the number of posts between "Free discussion" and "Salon", with a display of 50 per page, to go back to exactly one year ago you need to go to page 21 on the English side, and page 24 on the French side.
Interestingly, doing the same thing with "Coin identification and evaluation" you have to go back to p. 44 on the English side, and p. 40 on the French.
So, the people on the English side are more serious than on the French side...

I came up with the bargain finds threads several years back. I think this was the first one (also the first thread that Coinsoldier reared his ugly head). When they started getting too long I switched to the monthly ones we know and love today.
So the French are more chatty and better at Identifying their own coins?
