What should I do with this coin?

I got this nice coin because the price was impossible to refuse but it has sadly been turned into a medallion by someone. Now, what's the best option in this case? I believe that in this case the part that makes it a medallion can be removed with minimum damage to the coin, but I'm not sure whether that's the best thing to do or not. Would removing that thing make the value of the coin drop or not? Because if the value of the thing stays the same I'd gladly have it taken off.

Thanks!
If it was a really valuable coin 1.500€ or so plus I would check to have an expert look at it to have it removed; for a coin like this I'd say no just leave it as it is. Value will also not change if you remove it or not.
That's just my opinion and you are of course free to do as you want with your coin.

Paul

Try so sell it as a necklace on the internet and buy a better coin with the money.
Taking a break from swapping for a while, but still interested in pre 1799 Spanish coins, I will make time for that!

Looking for pre 1783 coins
That's too bad, it's a really nice coin and as far as coins that have been made into jewelry it's not so bad. The damage is minimal.

If it were mine I'd treasure it anyway. I think it's a gorgeous coin.
