Perfect for April 1st: Jesus Christ portrait identified on coin

7 posts
Hello all,

A story came up a few days ago that could have been taken for an April Fools' Day joke had it been released on April 1st:

Author claims coin contains first real image of Jesus Christ

I was informed the author is a well known crackpot. He seems to have held up to his reputation with that story. The rule is simple: when you don't have evidence, just make it up.

If you say something enough times and with enough conviction it becomes true.
I would believe it if the coin depicted Jesus turning over the money-changers tables at the temple.
I reckon my slice of burnt toast with the image of Jesus is going to take a huge drop in value now.
Non illegitimis carborundum est.  Excellent advice for all coins.

 Is it buttered or unbuttered?

Usually when a slice of toast falls on the ground, the buttered side is down, so I hope you put the butter on the back.

They're now commercializing the whole Jesus-toast thing, so authentic Jesus toasts will go down in value amid the plethora.

Several years ago some guy drove 2 hours to show us the picture of a moth with the face of Jesus on it. I showed him my carpet where I could identify several faces, including potential Jesus faces. I could have told him that because of evolution we are conditioned to recognize patterns, including faces, but I gathered it wouldn't be a good use of my time.
