I have some of the following Italian coins (don't hesitate to contact me, if you want to exchange! ;)):

The catalog only distinguishes among magnetic and non-magnetic. I notice, instead, that some are strongly magnetic (that is: using a small neodymium magnet, I can hold up a chain of 3 coins ), some are not magnetic at all (that is: using the same magnet, I cannot notice any attraction at all), while some are very weakly magnetic (that is: using the same magnet, I feel some little attraction, just enough to hold up a single coin, or even not enough).

Are the coins belonging to the latter group to be considered non-magnetic?

Thanks!
All 3 varieties (strong, weak and non magnetic) exist depending on the alloy.
But personally I would put them under non ferritic, they just fucked-up the steel recipe in that batch.

Also neodymium magnets are quite strong try a ferric magnet which are over 4 times weaker so you probably wont get an attraction from the weak alloys.
