Hello all,

I'm looking for more Numista help, this time with regard to the British Coinage Offences Act of 6th August 1861 and the colonial laws derived from it. Hopefully one or some of you have studied British Imperial law and can help. So here is the passage:

The whole law, and this text in particular which interests me, has been adapted for each colony's needs. Obviously, the reference to England, Ireland and Scotland was irrelevant, so that we obtain, for example, this for Barbados (1868):

New Zealand and Jamaica use the same text. I am actually interested in a more complex case, Trinidad (1874):

The text I have is from a 1902 official publication, when Edward VII reigned. This explains "King" instead of "Queen", but otherwise I believe the text is as it was in 1874.

So, how do the legislators proceed? Do they take the British text plus the colonial texts and work from there in order to draft their own version?

I'm hopeful someone on Numista can help! Please comment below ↓↓↓ or by DM! Thanks!

Now I am looking for anyone who has Spink's Numismatic Circular for the year 1961. In it there is a short article by FRED PRIDMORE simply titled "Trinidad".

Anyone? 8)
