Hi,

Would recommend this site for Signature Charts.

A lot of other information on the home page, take a look
This thread needs to be pinned to the top of the forum.
I found this website that has drawings of the various watermark patterns on early 20th century German banknotes:

Wikimedia Commons

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page

Not for buying banknotes but any scan of an old banknote could be uploaded there so it's easier to make it as a single site the world's largest collection of images of banknotes, and all images from Wikimedia that aren't copyrighted come from here.
I'd just like to add that atsbanknotes:
http://www.atsnotes.com/catalog/catalog.html

(already added by JRo69)

Is actually very incomplete, although I find it still pretty useful.
Is there a site like this for notes where you can list "all" of your notes you have? With pics etc.

true..but can't we just create the website ourselves? there was a guy who, after months of discussion, said "give me OK and i will start working on the site"..that was probably 4 years ago now..
For me i use only 2 websites to complete my collection.

A couple Russian sites:
1. http://fox-notes.ru/fn_foto.htm -- There is an English version of that page at http://fox-notes.ru/fn_foto_EN.htm but most of the content accessible from there is in Russian.
2. https://www.russian-money.ru/catalogs/ - Russian-only, dedicated entirely to Russian and USSR coins and banknotes

Note: Some collectors are not amused about the stolen Pictures from that websites whitout permission.
Please use your own pictures for numista.
If you are referencing THIS thread we can't do much about sites like banknote.ws, the owner has given us permission (HERE) but he himself doesn't give credit so a user can't now from whom the pictures are.
So the person has either give the banknote.ws full usage rights or the owner has given us the rights wrongly in which case the complainer has to contact him for the issue.

Banknote.ws pictures are most often just of mediocre quality so the makers of the pictures that complained of 'theft' are happily invited to upload higher quality pictures from their notes with full credits to them.

If they are really of an unsanctioned source the should be speedily removed.
Like I have seen on multiple occasions whole links to Colnect and other sites in the credit box and I really can't understand how these got through verification. Some referees might have to re-read the catalog editing manual.

Is there a way for a user to search for 'copyright' information like search: '© "www."' or 'source of the picture type other'?

I use Banknoteworld.org for information and Banknoteworld.com for purchasing currencies from around the world.

The sales agent gave me his discount code for 20% off of all of my purchases and told me I could share it and that it doesn't expire.

Use code AGT20 at checkout

So far I have no complaints they have been very professional and the website is easy to navigate.

Can you upload photos - & is there a checklist in which you can say, “I have this type in my collection”?

Let us know when we can start uploading photos - then we can educate our fellow collectors in the process.

I found a useful site for banknotes of the Philippines: https://www.numismatics.ph/

This site goes really in depth with the history and helps to identify some of the notes as well. You kind of have to know what you’re looking for though. Most of the information is found under the “The History” section of the dropdown menu. https://papermoneyofmexico.com

Jcler001Hi,

Would recommend this site for Signature Charts.

Brilliant

For Uruguayan banknotes I can recommend the official numismatic site from Uruguay: https://numismatica.bcu.gub.uy/category/billetes/banco-central-del-uruguay/page/5/

I did not see this link yet, but https://banknotedb.com/ usually has pictures of actual signatures from banknotes rather than just descriptions (more than a few that are not found on here already) and usually have UV light photos for plenty of banknotes as well. The website is really quite slow a lot of the time though, sadly.

This is just my personal opinion.

I used a few sites for info on banknotes issued, and I find the following sites are very useful.

https://banknotedb.com/ - A very useful site with a lot of info, such as description on the note, actual date of issue, name of signature. The problem is that this site is still growing and many notes are still missing;

http://www.banknote.ws/  - I believe this site has the most notes, but there can be a lack of info, like the name of the signature. Descriptions are always very brief too.

Numista - Here this site is good too. I rely on the info for the signatures if listed. Requesting for an update can be sometimes a bit tough too.

Colnet - The description is very brief too, but still a good site to go to if you are missing info for the note you are looking for.

I also use a few other sites too, but the above 4 are my most visited sites for info.

https://paperbanknotes.blogspot.com - Any offer for exchange is most welcome.
My spares: https://paperbanknotes.blogspot.com/2006/08/all-notes-listed-below-are-all-offered.html

The problem with banknote.ws is their made up pick numbers.  I've stopped counting all requests I get to add picks like P153(1), P153(2), etc. This site is for many the true catalogue of which they just copy-paste to Numista.

In this case, I just record my notes as P153a, P153b etc. Pick catalogue reference numbers are not consistent either.

The most comprehensive website for information about the $1 2013B star notes with the duplicate serial number error.

https://2013b.com/

Also the number 1 site for helping you find a match to your 2013B star note!

For Romanian collectors, here are a few additional reference resources that might be useful:

• Romanian banknotes catalog (by issues, series and types):
https://bancnote.net/romania

• Romanian coins catalog:
https://bancnote.net/monede/catalogmonede

There is also a Romanian site where collectors can sell banknotes, which may be useful for those looking to part with duplicates:
https://magazinuldebancnote.ro and https://cumpar.bancnote.net/

These are commercial websites selling banknotes and coins.

I will throw my own personal site on here, currently document uncut US obsolete currency.  No ads and I am not selling on the site, just strictly documentation.  Recently finished posting all photos I have permission to post, hoping Heritage Auctions eventually gives me permission to post their photos.

I am pretty sure any graded item on Heritage or any other auction site, will have images at the grader's website (PCGS, PMG).  If I remember correctly they allow use of their images as long as you give them credit.

I tried this, alot of the stuff I don't have is from back in the pre 2012 era and PMG doesn't have photos on any of the cert lookups.
