While going through my coin collection, I found one Blank (unminted) coin. Would something like this have value?

A blank planchet...hmm? Picture, please. Scan the image and crop it (in answer to your other post) pictures are available for most of the coins. But if you wanted to add your own pictures, you can send a modification request.
Hi Bam777, Here's the scan as requested... it's the same on both sides.

I have two blanks as well. Mine are both UK two pound coins - luckily identifiable as they had just the edge inscription on. Yours may be tricky as there is no way of knowing where they are from - or even if they were meant to be coins. There is a picture of mine at the end of this Topic ...

Blanks do have a value, even as they are. Here is a current listing where a group are sold as one lot ...

It looks like aluminium bronze could you measure the diameter, thickness and weigh it then we might get closer to finding out what it is.
Hello Janine

I think it is a blank of our 50c coin.  Check it against a minted one.

I think I saw somebody selling a few on BidorBuy recently.

Andrew
Hi Andrew! Nice to know another person from SA on Numista! Do you mean our 5 cent coin? The only problem I have with this theory is that I know it's been in a box for about 20 years... It may be that we'll never truely know! Cheers, Janine

I also have a blank like that, and there are no identifying marks whatsoever. Does it have any value?
Welcome to the site. Here is an edited quote of mine from above ...

plus two more since then. Also I wondered how do people know they were ever intended to be coins?

I think it is the shape of the disc that makes it look like it was meant to be a coin. as they are curve up near the rim.
