I’ve just bid on a 10 set of medals commemorating shuttle flights.
does anyone know about these type of coins .. are they worth collecting

If you have a particular interest in astronomy, yes, they are. Otherwise, it has no meaning to you.

When I was outbid , I didn’t bother competing. I was never really convinced they were for me.

Well...they are not coins. But several coins do exist with space shuttles...Isle of Man and USA for example...

but also if you like nice looking commemorative medals they are worth.
