Paris, Madrid, Florence, Stockholm

Hi,

not sure where to put this question...
I will be travelling to Paris, Madrid, Florence and Stockholm shortly. Can anyone advice me where to go to find some nice coins. Nothing fancy, just simple coins. Like markets and stuff.

PARIS
I heard there were coin shops near Boulevard Montmartre at Rue Vivienne.
Also somewhere near Champs-Elysees, but it is quite small and not well decorated.

Also very expensive so consider finding them somewhere else, might be hundreds of euros for a pre-1900 coin.

​True, but be careful a lot of them are now closed and replaced by tourist shop. You can easily access to la Plaza mayor where, you will find from 8 to 10 different stores, by the metro from the airport. The Best is station 'Sol' the middle of Madrid, then you can walk 500 meters to 'La Plaza Major".

More precisely, north side of the plazza mayor and streets leading to it from the calle mayor.

For Paris, the rue Vivienne (and neighbouring streets) concentrates the majority of the coin dealers in Paris.

After my travels to Paris, Madrid and Florence I can confirm the coin shops around Rue de Vivienne in Paris and under the stoa of Plazza Mayor in Madrid.
I couldn't find any coins shops in Florence unfortunately... although I didn't spend my holiday just looking for shops of course.
