Gold Plated 1972 Eisenhower Coin?

2 posts
Hey Numista. I went home to spend Thanksgiving break with my family. This was a chance for me to look through my dad's US Eisenhower dollar collection, he has a few hundred sitting in coffee containers. Basically he had been going to the bank for decades asking for them and just stored them without really cataloging them.

I found a gold plated 1972 Eisenhower coin. It is a bit difficult to see it here though. https://imgur.com/gallery/3BlMS

Also found some off center ones, some from 1973 are pretty low mintage. How do I identify ones that are silver?

I this anything special? What else should I keep an eye out for when looking through this?

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!
What I collect: US, 3rd Reich Germany, Philippines, Ancients, Vatican City, North Korea.

Silver coins will have a completely silver-colored edge, whereas the copper-nickel clad circulation issues will have a copper stripe on the edge, just like quarters and dimes do.
