There are numerous Scottish coins from this period with thistles on them.
Anne 5 shillings
Charles II Bawbee
Charles I 40 Pence
James III Groat of 1471-1483. The first occurrence of the thistle on a Scottish coin.
French, English and British coins will also provide you with a wealth of examples since the fleur-de-lis features prominently on them.
Basically all the French Écu coins since Louis XV, and a lot of coins until the modern day from France, have some kind of wreath/ olive branch/wheat stalks/flower on them

Quote: "Cerulean"I am confused about the time period that Monninen is asking about.
The 17th and 18th centuries cover the years 1601-1800. But he expressed it in a way that implies 18th and 19th centuries (1700s and 1800s).
The 1700th Century doesn't start until the year 160101, so we have wait a long time.
