Should we revive dead posts?

9 posts
If we think a "dead" post is relevant or on par with what I want to express, should I comment on it?

Albeit the previous post already being a few years ago.

If there is a reason to it and can be beneficial also for others than sure old posts can be revived.

Probably every forum I've ever been on banned commenting on posts older than a year. The moderation team seems really relaxed here and doubt they have rules against this though.

There probably is. I think most forums see it as professional to just start a new thread with the current members compared to old threads with members who are not likely active anymore. They said it kept the forums looking clean.

It does seem messy to revive an old thread, and to scroll down through all those messages...
I recommend starting a new thread but link back to a relevant older one in the first post, or something like that.

No. I don’t think so.

I don't agree  !!!

Far easier to just continue to add to the original thread.  Maybe, if it gets too long (i.e. 3 - 4 pages) maybe then add a link to the original thread and start anew.

Yeah. I was joking. I revived a thread from 2017.
