WCC Completion Review

In response to a question by SRL about WCCs to be done;

Here's a map of all the countries in the world; blue indicates done, while grey indicates not done.

Most of the world's modern countries are done; except for mostly island nations/territories:

I tend to skip countries and territories that have no circulation coinage of their own. But feel free to add WCC's for them.

I still plan on doing:
- East Germany
- Saar
- German states (general)
- Prussia & Brandenburg
- Bavaria
- Hannover
- Saxony
- Nassau
- Baden
- Hamburg
- Frankfurt
- Bremen

Regarding Italian states the major ones already have their own topic. For Swiss Cantons I still had the plan to expand the existing topic with short descriptions.

Any ideas as to what I could use to train my shorthand writing and its/it's ?

I'll take on some of the other German states (there's hardly a shortage) with your blessing, although I particularly wanted Hannover.

1. Do not use it's. Use 'it is' for a few months and return to 'it's', so you know when to use 'it is', now shortened to 'it's', against 'its'.

2. Replace every its with him/her and see if it makes sense grammatically, and replace every it's with it is/it has and see if it makes sense grammatically.

3. Use Grammarly or some other grammar fixing applications/websites.

Some ways I came up with.

You can have Hannover, and its predecessor state of Brunswick-Lüneburg.

For brevity I would stick to how Brunswick-Lüneburg came into existence (and how it's related to Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel), what role it played in the HRE, and how it ended. Then you can focus on its post-Napoleonic successor called the Kingdom of Hanover (english spelling), how it was in personal union with Britain until William's death and at the end how Prussia ended its existence in 1866.

Just focus on starts and ends, naming and that a lot of its rulers were also King of England, as they appear on coins.

Nothing else. Leave most of the wars Hanover was involved in unmentioned unless it had a crucial effect on its existence.

I usually draft a more detailed piece before deleting half and then I publish.

Probably word-vanity, but I'm not sure I could bring myself to do that.
I'll just have to limit myself then.

Next one is Saar. These poor Germans had to put up with buttersoft French Francs for a while, before they could start saving and paying in rock hard Deutschmarks. Well, we all have Euro now anyway and this piece of history reminds us why we ever came up with this monetary union.

Updated the list. I honestly think we should do short ones for Dominica and those other Caribbean islands, for completion's sake.

When writing that Swiss Cantons topic I soon realised that putting them all under one roof in more detail would make it too long. Highlighting a few well-known cantons this way is perfect.

I think it's a good idea to do little WCCs in the format that I've done for micronations; for example I might do a post with Geneva on the Swiss cantons thread, then SRL might make another post with one for Solothurn (for example), and so on.

While reading the old WCCs I see a similar format with different users contributing bite sized WCCs on the same thread has already been done on Indian princely states/kingdoms, and can be done for not only Swiss cantons, Spanish states, Islamic states, etc, as well as for the smaller German states.
