Roermond duit. Is it a fake? [solved]

8 posts
Hi. I bought in ebay a lot of copper coins, included the following one. At first, I thought it was a duit/gigot from Roermond (Gueldre, Spanish Netherlands, https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces130522.html). But there are some "odd" details, like the absence of continuity between the upper and the lower portion of the city coat of arms. What do you think? Maybe an abnormal minting? or simply a fake? Thank you very much

Given how it's from an age from wayy before large-scale standardised minting techniques became commonplace, I wouldn't be surprised if it were just an abnormal minting error, or post-mint damage/wear in the time between it's minting and now.

Thanks a lot for your opinions!!
This is mine with a normal looking coat of arms. Aside from that your coin looks real. I guess it is a error.

Beautiful coin!!! Thank you for your help. Finally, I asked help to

Great news! Congratulations with your coin! Your coin is from Carlos II. Almost the same exist with Phillips II! I am trying to get that one right now.
