its very strange theres only 600thousand of these ive had like 10 or 20 myself and the index rarity is very low like 21 with a mintage that low youd think it would be much more rarer how can this be? and now im wondering are there many fakes of this coin or what i dont know who would want to forge such a cheap coin but it just seems odd i come across so many of them does anyone know how this coin has such a low mintage but is so common
Maybe they meant 600,000,000. Or simply 6,000,000.

It's the same size as a British farthing and new penny, so it probably ends up a lot there too.

it seems theres a km 16a silver proof too not listed with amintage of 22but the km 16 appears to be right mintage at 600,000 awfully low for such a common coin i guess my question is do as many other people get this coin as commonly as me ? i dont see how with such a low mintage and the index rarity is only 21 weird how that works out i know other one year types with a mintage of 6ook are pretty hard to find
I've only seen and touched one in front of me.

I agree that it is odd, I have 2 and had more, and look how many people have it for swap.  It might be worth forging if you were as poor as some of those people, or the mintage number is probably wrong.
Taking a break from swapping for a while, but still interested in pre 1799 Spanish coins, I will make time for that!

yes alot of coins are made by us mint in philadelphia not sure if this one is or not but it was just a thoery why so many of them float around the u.s.
Correct mintage you say? Hard to believe. I've the 1964 1 Cent with a mintage of 35,000,000...and that seems to be rarer than the 1/2 cent. I'm no genius, but I'd say the figures just don't add up. Maybe 600K was just a part of the coin order.
thats what i thought too seemed odd but ive checked everywhere and thats the only figuer that pops up on numerous sites and in numerous books maybe when they were made they werent circulated just hoarded away then recently the internet age unleashed that hoard so there everwhere
just found 2 more of these, must have minted millions!
