Coins + Coin Weights for sale/swap

2 posts
Will I swap? I gobble up pre1871 milled German States [As well as Swedish/Norwegian/Danish] Thalers, Doppelthalers, and some fractional ones in VF+ or better, so if you have any let me know first please. I'll likely be interested if I can improve my collection. I can always add cash to sweeten a potential deal. Also after 1974-1978 WWF series coins and a Portugal 1790-1816 400 Reis in EF or better,

Why don't I sell for more? Because my goal is to improve my collection, not make a maximum income. I usually buy from auctions in small lots, and these sales offset the price of the main coin that I wanted.

I'll provide pictures on a case by case basis as there's quite a few of them.

Set of 3 coin weights - £50

NF (Reverse better) 1758? Irish coin weight for the Portuguese Doppio Moieda - Assume scarce at worst but could be rare. I've found one other for sale historically, but it was a Quinto not Qvarto. - Many scratches

vf+/XF 1821 Half Sovereign Coin Weight - Scarce according to ebay sellers but I've found quite a few sold historically, so assume relatively common. Better condition than most though.

1 Shilling coin weight? Not researched this one, so any info is good.

Maundy Coinage - 1890 Fourpence - GVF + a 1904 Twopence, EF - £40

Both Scarce, especially out of sets. Fourpence previously cleaned but has retoned beautifully. Twopence with slightly uneven toning.

1819 Crown - Countermarked - VG+/NF, Reverse better - £20

Unfortunately for George, he seems to be missing the right side of his face. Beautiful even grey toning,

1887 Florin - Uncirculated - Surface Hairlines - £35

Probably lightly cleaned in the past, and has a toning spot on her head too, but still beautiful and lustred.

1906 Florin - GVF/NEF and nicely toned - £90

I found this one quite difficult to grade, but it has beautifully dark toning with excellent detail and is now considered scarce in higher grades.

France 1938 20 Francs - EF or better - £15

Not much to report on this one, no toning or problems to speak of. Most of you would probably consider it UNC.

Australia 1937 Crown - VF - £17

Nice grey spotted toning

1902B British Trade Dollar - Choice EF - £120

A stunning example that speaks for itself.

Uncirculated Edward VII Rupees - £35 each.

ZAR Type set - Average VF - (3d 6d 1s 2s 2/6 - NO CROWN) - £35

1867 Shilling - Die 20 - VF - £30
