40 Réis - Pedro I countermarked 80 Réis

Coin in very poor condition, +/-3mm off-center strike
looks like this one : https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces3974.html
weight is 28g, size is 41mm  , not 36 like the above mentioned ...
error in numista catalog, or something else ?


Is it stll worth anything ? Or just scrap metal ?

Of course it's worth something.

Otherwise you'd be throwing away a $5-10 dollar coin.

If you upload a better picture, I'll be ready to identify it for you, but look in Brazil. A lot of Portuguese coins are countermarked there. This might be one of them.
