Good evening Tony. Have a look on eBay's completed listings to get an idea, but when I was looking into it they were going for roughly £10 per kilo including postage. Obviously that rate would come down a bit when you are looking at larger lots. I picked up a 6.5 kilo lot towards the end of last year and I think it worked out to about £45-£50 with the postage.
Just because you can't see it ... doesn't mean it isn't there - Anon.

I usually pay between 7 and 9 euros per kilo, so that would be 6-7,5 GBP, shipping included. When I see silver in it this can be a bit more, but never over 10 euros. Last year I bought 20 kilos for 100 euros, but I haven't seen any lots like it any more.
Well, Matt had a recent thread on this, but to repeat. Nowadays, I'll look to pay more for bulk coins. I don't wan't the filtered down from collector to collector bulk coinage, so I look for a collection. I paid a bit more than usual for 3 kilos before xmas and my intuition was correct. There was only one of each type of coin(including Malay Penn, Portuguese India..even a clear date 1675 farthing)..and some silver.
So, I think it's like anything else. You might get lucky with a base price buy..but generally, you'll pay a bit more for a good bulk buy.
Thanks for all the advice, I have managed to buy a collection of 500+ coins for £27 incl p&p.
The seller had no previous coin sales or purchases. This is the collection.
Let me know what you think.
First opinion : I don't see many pre-1950 coins (few pennies...), can't identify the dark coins in the upper picture, no special coins at first sight,... if it's national postage, then IMHO you paid too much.
I have like 35 pounds I would like to move, all very common coins, it would be easy to include a pound or two in a swap, I don't know how much that would increase the shipping but I would sell them cheep.
Taking a break from swapping for a while, but still interested in pre 1799 Spanish coins, I will make time for that!
I've notice this problem only with a swap I'm currently doing. We swapped some relatively low-value coins, and I'm in the US while my swap partner is in our neighbor to the north. For some reason, it's been 22 days, and I've not seen his coins, nor has he (according to his messages) seen mine.
I've never had this bad of a delay from Canada before.

i know im having the same thing going
I've had the same problem, when I shipped from Florida earlier this year it took a lifetime for it to arrive in Ontario :S Infact I think that I could of walked to Canada faster than that stupid envelope.
Just give it like a month. It's those paranoid border guards, that's all.
