Hi all, I've got this coin/token that I know to be Charles I but can't find anything the same or similar on the internet; any help would be great.

Almost forgot to mention is very small approx 10mm diameter.

Possibly 'a farthing of Charles 1, "Rose" type dating c 1630'.

Another similar one, but I see neither have the crossed items under the crown, like yours has.

Thanks for the help, and i see what you mean it is quite different. I have found a site that describes exactly as it is but no picture.

Nice 1 you are truly worthy.
Thanks! Finally, perhaps it may be KM# 177 which reads 'Obverse: Crown above crossed scepters in inner circle' and is made of copper. But no picture - perhaps if someone has a catalogue they can check.

The nearest i've found is km#175 in the 1601-1700, 2009 stardard catalogue of world coins 4th edition, mentions about a wedge of brass in many planchets, but still no pictures. Forgot i just bought a disc with loads of catalogues on.
Not many pictures about - tried to find one of KM# 175 but nothing found. Not sure what a double rose looks like (KM# 175) but KM# 176 has a single rose. Still may be KM# 177 though.

I don't know if this is any help but I have had a look at my 44th edition Spink and there is a close match on p296, described as "(Spink)3207 Rose Type 5, sceptres below crown, mm Mullet on both sides", whatever all that means. As I say, the pictures do look very similar to yours but I am a bit concerned about the lettering on the rose side of your coin. All the Rose Farthings in my Spink say "FRA ET HIB" or "FRAN ET HIB" but yours is different. If I get a chance in the morning I'll see if I can scan my book.

from the catalogue,

KM# 173 FARTHING
Copper Ruler: Charles I Obv: Crown above crossed scepters in
inner circle Rev: Crowned harp in inner circle Note: Maltravers Issue
(1634-36). Contract passed to Lord Maltravers. Round shape.
KM# 172 FARTHING
Copper Ruler: Charles I Obv: Apostrophe punctuation Rev:
Apostrophe punctuation Note: Transitional issue (ca.1634)
KM# 177 FARTHING
Copper Ruler: Charles I Obv: Crown above crossed scepters
in inner circle Note: Rose Farthing. Varieties exist.
KM# 175 FARTHING
Copper Ruler: Charles I Rev: Crown above double rose in inner
circle Note: Rose Farthing. Varieties exist. Many specimens
found with a wedge of brass in planchet.
KM# 176 FARTHING
Copper Ruler: Charles I Rev: Crown above single rose in inner
circle Note: Rose Farthing. Varieties exist.

I noticed it does say rev: crown above single or double rose. maybe my coin is one of these km#175/176

This is the scan of my Spink catalog - it is the closest match that I have seen to your coin but not exactly the same. However, it is reported that different varieties and mules exist for these Rose farthings.
