Adult tokens [solved]

I own several tokens that are sexually explicit in its artistic depiction. They are called "Connect with a (zodiac name)."

I was told last year that they cannot be add at that time. I was curious if they are now or, will they be in the foreseeable future?

Thank You

I don't think so, there is a rule against having explicit images on the site. We do have collectors as young as 10 on the site so probably not appropriate.
What? Me Worry
Perhaps a compromise would be to add them to the site but without pictures? (Or maybe have Imgur links to the pictures in comments with explicit warnings next to them?)

Although I don't really understand the puritanical reaction to it. Coins (or in this case, tokens/exonumia) with sexually explicit images are still coins that should be added, and with regard to the designs they're just depictions of human sexuality. A perfectly normal thing, so in my opinion, the fact that we're all Victorian chastity belt about it, 18 and a half years into the 21st century is completely ludicrous.

It's comparable to how prudish Victorian idiots objected to the depictions of bare breasts on the USA "Educational Series" $5 in 1896, or the first issue of the Standing Liberty Quarter in 1916-17. Besides, we already have tokens like this one....
they used to be on the catalog, and all got deleted, as far as I remember

maybe too much work for Xavier that better be spent improving something else, but a working solution would be to have the pics only visible after you click on them; and before clicking, a pic of "to view this image, you must be 18+" would appear instead

another solution that might be even easier would be giving these tokens the "adult" tag, and they would only show in the catalog if members selected that they are 18+ when registering (i dont even remember if numista asked for age tbh)

I like the idea of giving these the adult tag where you must be 18+ to view.

The dumbest thing on the internet in my opinion these click-if-you-are-18 things ... laughed about it when I first encountered it on the net nearly 20 years ago as a child ... still scratch my head today 8)
If it's just a couple of tits nobodies mind will explode and what strange kid dares to set foot in the dreaded token and exonumia section anyways.

I agree completely but I think it's more of a way for Numista to cover their butts more than anything since people are so thin skinned these days.

Hear Hear!

Again, what's with all this prudishness over body parts? It shouldn't even matter if it's a few tits, or all out intercourse being depicted. We're almost a fifth of the way through the first century of the new millennium, for Christ's sake.... it's about time to stop appeasing some goddamned conservatives! (;0
After everyone's comments I resubmitted the token with a parental warning of sorts and it was approved. This should satisfy the ever growing thin skinned objectors. I have also referenced Token Catalog which appears audacious by posting both sides of the tokens. This will satisfy my desire to be able to add it and know if I need one not listed in the future.

So if you had a 10 year old daughter/son, you'd be happy for them to view tokens like this
What? Me Worry
To answer you truthfully, Neil, I absolutely would not have any problem with a ten year old of mine viewing it. I can imagine how shocking this might seem to some people, but please, hear me out. 8)

These aren't things to be hidden away and be ashamed about, they're perfectly normal aspects of life that if anything should be embraced by society without any stigma or negative associations. My mum raised me without prudish euphemisms and awkward avoidances about human reproductive anatomy; I knew the words "penis" and "vagina" when I was as young as 4 or 5, and I've used more nude beaches than I have fingers to count them on since.

My point is, there's simply nothing worth being hidden from children or being strait-laced about here. I reiterate the POV expressed by myself and Idolenz.... human sexuality simply isn't as scandalous as some make it out to be. 8~

To YOUR values, but this site isn't all about you. What about all the members who use this site from more conservative countries? This site is not just used by people from left leaning western countries, but also Muslim, Hindu, Catholic, etc. The rules are there for a reason.

About the tokens themselves through. Firstly I don't think they should be in the catalogue at all because they are just cheesy novelty tokens and I thought we were cleaning up the tokens section and getting rid of things like these, I guess that has been forgotten about and the tokens section is again turning into a dumping ground. (Why is it that all the work I and Muzz put into listing the New Zealand sets has been removed but crappy tokens like this are still allowed in the catalogue?)

Secondly, if they do have to go in the catalogue then the solution offered is probably the best way to go. Have the information provided, have the less offensive side displayed and then the more offensive side not displayed.
What? Me Worry
Neil, I do get your point, don't get me wrong; in an international community some degree of mutual political correctness is probably appropriate to avoid mishaps, but to my mind this particular issue is simply redundant, and as objectively silly as can be. I can understand PC should be used with respect when discussing touchy subjects, but anyone conservative enough to be scandalised by parts of their own body is practically just looking to get offended.

Again, I realise we're all offended by different things, but at some point it just becomes facepalm material. I can somewhat sympathise with your point about them being cheap novelty tokens tokens though! But as for their censored representation in the catalogue, I think that's extremely unnecessary. Why don't we replace some Italian coin pages' images with these instead, to appease the most obstinately conservative among us?

Conservative humbug is only as controversial as we make it, and I believe it's long past due time for humanity as a whole to grow up on this subject.
There's a bit of a difference between a classic depiction of the human form and a scenes of people rutting and I think you know that. That's why the rule doesn't specifically ban nudity, but "pornographic and erotic images"

Perhaps, but would someone from a more conservative country (verbatim: the "most obstinately conservative") necessarily agree with you on that differentiation? It's not just us using this forum, correct? ;)

So where exactly do we draw the line? That is the question; and it seems we will just have to agree to disagree on that one. Interesting debate we are having here, though!8)
The line has already been drawn...as I pointed out it's "pornographic and erotic images" that are banned. classical and tateful nude forms = ok, depictions of sexual acts and lewd nude forms (like those "heads I win, tails you lose tokens) = not ok

I meant that in a much wider sense than just for the Numista catalogue, but nevermind.
I was just browsing the Latest additions to the coin catalog and couldn't help thinking of this post.

I have one of those tokens that found their way into a bulk lot. Anyone is able to swap for it if they want it.
I suggest we ban access to museums to minors (to elderly as well for danger of stroke), burn all the Klimts, Picassos, Schieles and the like pornographers. Then, thinking deeper about it, Judaism and Islam prohibit depiction of humans completely, so let's melt down all the coins with people. Let's leave only cats and pets (UK and Australia leading the way) and plain numerals.
And what about violence? Roman legionaire slaying a slave. Wow! That's an educational series of coins.
Zuckerbergian idiocy!
And to a question by one of the members: I have 3 sons and 2 daughters who have been exposed to human nudity at naturist camps well before they learned to say "sex".
Theoretically most coins with animals/mammals and what not on them show some kind of “mating organs” to avoid breaking forum policy so if it’s not full on gore and what not there should be some kind of policy to avoid people getting scarred for life from seeing it. If animals could talk and would have their own conversation about the same thing.
Hi to whoever is reading this. Did you know that TYPEWRITER (on a QWERTY keyboard) is the longest word you can type using only the letters on one row of the keyboard.
