P#38a 1 dollar under uv light shows a large crab over the Queen's smiling visage.

Lol!
You gotta wonder sometimes whether the watermark placement is accidental or a deliberate deed on a slow day.

I wondered if it was on purpose also. But it was not a watermark. It only shows up if you shine a blacklight on it.

I recently bought a UV note checker and have been going through my collection.
It's opened up a new world!
I like the picture of the Queen.
Does anybody have any tips on taking photographs of UV images. This one has turned out OK, but there are many others where the photo doesn't catch the details very well.

I recommend it, some of the designs are quite beautiful (also some are very plain).
It really shows the notes in a new light! And adds even more interest to collecting.

I happened to be in an Office supplies shop and saw it on offer. I paid around £14 and thought it was worth trying out.
It looks like this one,
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Cathedral-UV-Counterfeit-Note-Detector/dp/B00L31KR8U
I've only had it a few weeks but, up to now, it works fine.
