We have a similar thread going on for coins by aesthetic design on the Free Discussion forum, so let's breathe some life into the banknote forum! Post any banknotes you like purely because of aesthetic design; they don't need to be expensive or rare.

Beautiful depiction of Victory on this ND (1928-31) French Indochina 20 Piastres note; the trouble with the Banque d'Indochine Issues is that they aren't dated as most French and French colonial issues usually are.

The most common denomination of the 1920s series of AOF notes, but my favourite because of the Art Deco design; 1929 French West Africa 5 Francs.

Moving away from France, the back of this 1904 Germany 5 Marks has an absolutely badass dragon. It also happens to be dated from the 31st of October, or Halloween 1904.
I specially like the Finnish 1909 banknote set. Somehow these notes are beautiful.

10 Markkaa 1909

This note is very symmetrical. But what I really like is the giant pile of cows on both sides. And the fact that the cows stare at the cows on the other side.

Other 1909 Finnish notes with interesting designs:

(Other 1909 notes include 50, 500 and 100MK notes.)
Oh wow, I completely forgot about this thread I started until Monninen replied.

Guess there just aren't as many banknote connoisseurs out there. :(
I seen them and just had to buy them.

Czechoslowakia - 20 Korun - 1988 - P#95

I really like the backside of the Czechoslovakian 20 koruna bill. The nicest on of that series in my opinion.

Bohemia & Morovia - 100 Kronen/Korun - 1940 - P#7as.1

I like the city overview very much, it's only a specimen but my circulation note has seen to much handling

German Empire - 100 Mark - 1910 - P#42

Here I like the Germania with the high sea fleet in the back also the watermark is quite nice

Mexico - 1 Peso - 1969 - P#59k.2

Last but not least the central Mayan calendar or so looks very nice

Definitely agree, that note was actually one of the first I bought. Amazing that the equivalent of 5 of these can be bought for so cheap nowadays....
