The picture of 1 Rupee - George V1911 needs to be changed as it isthe pig rupee however the picture shows an elephant on the chest of the king. i do not have the original pig re , or rather i am not sure about its authenticity the one i possess.
please change if anyone has the original 1911 pig rupee
Oops! didn't mean to make it an issue - typically WCG images are low res and I can scan in 600dpi. In fact I found the coin and was in the process of cropping it when I saw your post. I'll post it here in a minute
No sorry, it was the original thread that I was questioning. Unfortunately, there is no image in my Krause for the KM#523 but the image for the KM#524 also appears to have an elephant on the Kings chest.

Oh I misunderstood - In 1911 a Rupee was issued in the name of George V - the "elephant" on his chest was engraved with a very short trunk and looked more like a pig. Because of this over the years the 1911 rupee was dubbed the "Pig rupee". The mistake was fixed in 1912 and an elephant with a longer trunk replaced the "pig".

joseph do u have this rupee . i have the duplicate one somebody gavve me a fake one. of course the fake one is also made ofsilver and i purchased it at Rs100, years ago
