Quote: "Jarcek"Besides obvious "wow!"
Thanks Jarek.
Quote: "Jarcek"I like the fact that out of 10 000, we were missing "just" 111 in the catalogue.
Three reasons for that:
- First of all, this is a compliment for the Numista catalogue which is already very extensive and is still growing every day. So it's not that easy to add coins you own yourself and not be in the catalogue yet, unless for some niches (ancient, mediaeval, modern "special" NCLT's, ...).
- I don't collect ancient or mediaeval coins. I start from around 1600 and that part is already very well covered in our catalogue.
- I haven't added yet my collection of modern "special" NCLT's. In that category I probably have to add a few hundred coins not yet in our catalogue, although this category is being covered more and more also in our catalogue.
Quote: "Jarcek"How are you adding them, randomly, or by countries, by different eras or by difficulty of identification?
Continents first, then countries alphabetically. At last, special collections:
The choice of the continents is not randomly, or alphabetically but I started with the easiest ones. So:
- America (North and South) and Oceania are done.
- Africa, working on right now, countries A - G and South Africa are done.
- Next one will be Europe. Not difficult to identify but this collection is immense, that's why it is later on my list.
- Asia, last on the continent list because I'll lose more time with identification with all those special scripts
- Old Europe: countries/states not existing anymore.
- Notgeld (mainly France and German).
- "Special" NCLT's: coloured coins, special shapes, coins with diamonds, crystals, pieces of meteorites, ... In short, coins most of the members don't like
