Apparently the rumors are true that the BOT has reprinted the new Rama X 20,50 and 100 baht notes. Thank you to Owen at banknote news for the photo. I suspect the other rumor is true that the govt is actively removing the first set of notes from circulation as I was not allowed to get any from the bank 3 weeks ago. These new Rama X notes may be little bit of a modern rarity.

I wondered about that too. There is nothing on the BOT website about the reprints. The banks indicated that Rama X notes in the low denominations would be available in September. I imagine they meant the reprints without saying so. The few Rama X notes that were circulating here in Sarakham seemed to have vanished for the most part. I would bet there are a few more floating around Bangkok but up here in Esan they seem to be gone. I'm glad I pulled a bunch out for future trades, at least the 20's and 100's. 50 Baht notes don't seem to be widely used at all.
