German 1923 Bank note [solved]

5 posts
Hi all, I wonder if anyone would be able to help with some more information on this note. It was given to me about 30 years ago and has been in my drawer. I have no idea the value, if any and would like to know if there is someone who may be interested in it? It is in great condition with hardly any marks on it and no fold marks either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
Dave

Hi,

It's a German 10 Million Mark note printed on the 22nd of August 1923, which was nearly at the height of the period of currency hyperinflation in the Weimar Republic's early history; at this time the price of a loaf of bread could rise in the time it took you to cross the street to buy it, and people would use notes as wallpaper and toys, as they were cheaper than the real products.

Your note is one of the most commonly seen I'm afraid, and even in superb condition it's only worth a few euros maximum:

Thank you very much for your help, much appreciated.
