On ebay there are 1992/3 EC presidency 50p coins going for all sorts of prices, mintage figures have them scarcer than a Kew Gardens one, but other years the figures are even lower, 1972 for instance has none, but Numista list 150,000. Are the RM figures for circulating coins only & the ones listed here are for the proof sets? Just that I had some coins arrive today & 1 was a mint 1972 50p, along with some silver proof 77 crowns & a complete set of A_Z 10p's,all for less than RM wanted for the set.
Yes, 1972 50p is just for proof sets. But you should put it in retrospective, the 70s proof sets are not really sought after (or generally standard 50s in that matter), but the Kew and EC were hyped in media + dealers hold them, so... you get kind of a picture of the situation.
