I may try the French side if no one here knows, but i'll give it a shot.
All I know is one side says LUDOVICUS, which could be anyone from Louis VI to Louis XII.
The reverse is hard to make out, but it looks like it has some sort of "circle and rod" design like other medieval Frenchies. Anyone know??

A gentleman on another forum found the answer for me:
"Denier Tournois of Louis VIII-Louis IX, 1223-1270. The same type was issued by both Kings.
TVRONVS CIVI
LVDOVICVS REX"

Awesome to have such an old coin with so much history!
Is it on Numista?
Taking a break from swapping for a while, but still interested in pre 1799 Spanish coins, I will make time for that!
Looking for pre 1783 coins

It doesn't appear to be. I'm looking to start collecting Feudal French stuff, so I guess I need to go out and buy the expensive guide to it.

If you do buy a guide,
Please add the catalogue numbers on the Feudal coins, or simply identify them. There are too many that have little to no information. Who knows, you might even become part of the team if you do this effort!
