Can we push for 200,000 coins.

Hi all. Happy festive period lol.

I have a fair few coins that are not listed biggest problem is that my phones pictures are not accepted for some reason and I don't have a PC hence having a very good phone...
Can they be accepted without pictures? as my last few haven't been, yet I see alot of coins on the site without. I can Email pictures to admin to put up. My last phone the pictures got accepted though..
Anyway I thought it we be amazing if we could all push to get the site to 200,000 before 2019. Can we make it? If everyone just did one or two that would be amazing. I will try my best to do 10 new coins. All help appreciated.

We currently have 135,764 coins according to the country list.... so to get to 200,000 before 2019 we would need to add over 64,000 coins in under a month. 8~

Even if every member contributes 20 coins in that period, we would need about 3,000 such members, which is probably more than the amount of active users*, much less active contributors.... so I wouldn't hold my breath. Maybe 150,000 before New Year's would be a more realistic target, though I still doubt it.

*By the way, how many active users (logs into account at least once a month) do we have, does anyone know?
We don’t need to urge ; quality is better than quantity.
I came accross too many pages with no informations about the coin at all : just a picture (sometimes wrongly orientated and blurry) and a title...
It’s allways the same users. It’s kinda frustrated because they don’t even try to do some research before posting (even when they have the informations, they don’t bother to add them at all!).
I can spend more than an hour on a single page when I have some old languages to translate : I don’t ask to spend that much time on it, but at least some efforts to help the next users to edit the page.
Sometimes I don’t even know if the identification was correct and if I own the same coin ><
Yes indeed quality over quantity ... we hardly have 100 000 "real" coins in the database and many only contain the bare necessities and are often just carbon copies of the KM catalogs, not even a transcription of what is written on it let alone further interesting information.

Thanks @Idolenz! :`

It would be interesting to have a breakdown of the latest coin pages (e.g. seeing which people have been adding the coins). Most of the time it's the same dozen or so people, to the extent that I can now recognise some people's formatting on new Numista pages.

Also agreed about quality over quantity; I've slaved over a page (like this) for over an hour rather than leave it featureless; it makes me sad to see a page like this, with only a few basic dimensions, photos, but no description or lettering or translation or comments at all.... (Maybe I should petition to become referee for China - Empire. :°)
One danger with rushing things is that you'll end up with many duplicate pages. I got a few of those removed some time ago, especially in my main collecting area, Canadian Provinces. This means unnecessary extra work for the referee: transferring info from one to the other page as well as Numista members who checkmarked their coin(s) in the page you're about to remove.

Hello,
One intermediate way of doing things could be to get in touch with the referee of the country you have new coins for, and ask.
Some - as I - would love to do the job themselves provided it results in a nice addition.
It takes a lot of time to find acceptable pictures of coins that are not yet in the catalogue, and saving that time is valuable.
Happy collecting !
