Coin Creations and 'Hobo' Coins

Here is a look at a few strange and exciting coin sculptures/creations and 'Hobo' coin designs.

I do believe there is a Victorian penny that shows Queen Victoria as a General:

Does anyone have any 'Hobo' coins like these in your collection?

A lot of coins have been modified in France after Napoleon III's defeat. Some of them are really well made, and they are quite 'common'.

I personally don't like collecting hobo nickels, but they're definitely a very artsy modification to make to a coin; my favourite ones are the monnaies satiriques made from French coins in the wake of Napoleon III's defeat and capture at Sedan in the Franco-Prussian War in 1870:

A little context:
When news reached Paris of the Emperor's capture and Sedan's capitulation, the Government of National Defence was set up as a provisional Republican regime the next day, when his wife fled Paris. The now-deposed emperor was ridiculed as France continued to be defeated in a war he had started, leading to satires like those depicting him in a Prussian pickelhaube.

I also do not collect this genre of coins however designs like the Napoleon III alterations are intriguing as they have a historical background to them that plays to my interest in history.

Another branch of the edited coin tree is countermarked coins such as Spanish-American 8 reales (captured by the British) being countermarked with an oval bust of king George III and passed as 4s 9d due to a shortage of silver.
