Recently, a relative of mine found here in their back yard, a Brazilian coin. It is not in very good shape but we were able to read some of the markings. It appears to be a 30 reis coin. I searched all over the internet and could find no articles, similar coins, or listings of this value. Anyone have any ideas or thoughts about this coin? Thanks
Ok, thanku very much, guys. Appreciate the help. The only question I have left is, how the heck did it get to where it was found, thousands of miles from Brazil, miles from nowhere in the back woods of the Canadian province of Nova Scotia???

Magic!
Seriously though, the distance a coin can travel in its lifetime is astounding; some Ottoman and Mughal empire silvers have been discovered on the Atlantic seaboard of North America, having been brought there through trade.
