Coins of Israel

Even though the dates of issue are missing so many years to the point that it looks like the state only started issuing coins from 1954 and for the 1st six years of its independence used "sheep" and "goats" and maybe "chickens" as money, this was still checked and approved by someone who obviously should not be given such abilites and must have alterier motives in this action. An action that the simplest logic would have prevented this from being done! Yet if I choose to correct the information and add the missing years (when I have the coins infront of my eyes) I am then told that I am a liar since the page has been verified and has no mistakes but even the one coin that is listed, is listed wrong both in the date 1954 which should be 1952/4 and in the way the date is written in Hebrew "תשיד" and should really be written "התשי"ד" ! Shame on who wrote those pages, bigger shame on who approved it and sealed it, but the biggest shame goes to "Numista" for letting this happen on their watch

Just 2 of the coins that "Don't Exist" according to this site.

Welcome to the forum! What dates would you like added?
I didn't check them all, after checking the 250, 100 and 50 Pruta coins, all had just 1 date 1953/4 that was miss dated and the 1948/9 original issue was missing I gave up and wrote in the forum but most of the coins issued had more then 1 date so any coin with 1 date has a much better chance of being wrong and your dates are off by 5000 years. Its like writing 2012 as 012 2000 years less then it really should be
The coins of Israel's dates can't be copied of the coin it needs to be checked since in Hebrew you can only edit dates on a coin and not on paper.

This is the converter that Numista uses
https://en.numista.com/numisdoc/calendar-hebrew-35.html

I understand your frustration but please understand, Numista is an interactive website - moderators add coins to the database and in a lot of cases they are added by members and verified by moderators. The moderators consult catalogues and online info for verification. As you might imagine they cannot be experts on coins from every part of the world, they interact and learn just like we members do.
If you have the expertise and knowledge to modify info about coins from Israel, I suggest you pick one coin sheet at a time and post required changes to the forum (please give references), this will give us all a chance to learn and your service will be of great benefit to this community. The moderators are good about replying to posts requiring modifications to the catalog.
If you do not have the time we understand :)
Any convertor that only uses years can not be correct since the calander changes in Agust 1 year while in October another thus any year can only be in 2 years
1978 is given as an example 5738 is this right? If you would have been able to put in Sep. 1978 it would have been 5739 not 5738 and so the opposite is correct as well and you can't translate 1 year from 1 calanger into only 1 year from the other. Bottom line your program is great but only 2/3 - 3/4 of the year and the rest of the time its 100% wrong

Do you know of a website we can use for more accurate conversions of Hebrew dates? That would be helpful..
I will look for one thats also in English and let you know.
What about adding the missing coins?
This will not be tonite, do I just write you back on this forum?
Go to the country list for Israel and right click - you should see "Create a coin" in the menu. From there it is relatively simple - take your time - no rush
