The question was...
"Is that the weird gay couple who are fighting with the crazy black German woman? They have been splashed all over our gutter media, in between endless tales about a family of Irish gypsies causing mayhem."
My answer:
Lol, unfortunately it's not, that dispute is between the book shop and the fabric shop (if you actually go to the book shop you can see that the have painted racist and put up sheets of paper with... 'other' messages). I've been reading all about it though and it's honestly really funny. Apparently they both said that they are leaving Woodville but I doubt they ever will. Here's an article from Stuff to read all about it.
But hey, I guess they put Woodville on the map.

Being gay myself I have taken a vested interest in it myself. I have met them and they are not the most stable people, surprisingly the main guy is Maori (Non white native New Zealanders like me) and he is claiming the German woman is a racist. Both of them the woman and the guys are silly and its not helping Woodville in general.
The shop is disgusting, a real pack rat palace and I found the books over priced to buggery (I found a much better book/knick knack shop down in Dannevirke in the old theatre).
The family of travellers is living proof New Zealand really shuts down from about Dec 22 to Feb 6 every year as we have school holidays, Xmas and New Year and even our news services, tv soaps and other things take a hiatus.
For those of you not in the know, the Travellers saga started 2 weeks ago (If you do not know what Travellers are - google it).
The family was caught littering and leaving rubbish every where and causing a ruckus at a local beach. A local woman walked up and told to clean it up and behave themselves, the family were abusive and had a 5 - 7 year old boy topless in a oversized sunhat swear at them and threaten her. She filmed it and put it on social media, the foul mouthed kid caused tea cups to rattle in pink parlours up and down White and Upper class New Zealand - meanwhile all us Maoris and regular people could not care less.
It then transpired the family made up of 3 adults and at least 7 children had been doing dine and dashes all over Auckland along with petty theft of Red Bull cans, ropes and Christmas buntings at petrol stations. Then they caught the family and gave them licence to deport notices.
The family then got arrested after trying to walk through a burger king drive thru and did not pay for their burgers claiming they had hair in them (They put the hair in it) and the police made them buy a car seat. The family then got kicked out of a hotel in another town and no one would put them up. Then stories came they were not Irish gypsy travellers, but rich and respectable Englishman, the main manatee claimed he was called John Johnson and was related to the "10th richest man in England" in fact he was a traveller called "Miley Doran".

The travellers then ended up in our Capital and it seemed that Miley needed heart medication, but was scared to visit the doctors due to the media. Then the family were accussed of more theft of Red Bull and one of them was charged at a local court of stealing some and the rope and bunting. The fat guy(Miley Doran) in my photo also received an assault conviction, he is 30!
Then tales from England came back they were Irish travellers living in England and booted out of several traveller camps in Liverpool area for trashing them, then a hotel in Levin, NZ complained they left poo and spaghetti all over the floor of their unit and sat around smoking and drinking and causing a nuisance after the 10am leaving time. Then they were back in Auckland when 4 went home, the rest then were spotted in the city and received tickets for illegal parking and the cops took their rental car off them, and they left it full of stinky nappies and rubbish and also the company want compensation.
The last we heard of them was another dine and dash scam foiled, they are expected to go home in a few days and claimed they hate NZ and were victimed because they were travellers. They were also apparently run out of Queensland earlier on.
My analysis
This family beahved disgracefully and really should not have tried all these scams and left garbage. But at the same time they were partially victimised for being Travellers (Pavee), yet at the same time, they told lies (10th richest man in England, John Johnson), stole several items, had no regard for cleanliness or safety (car full of many kids), showed no hygiene skills and generally pissed off a lot of people.
Sadly though Travellers get a poor rap, yet a lot of it is self imposed, lately many old people have been ripped off by cowboy tradesmen who repair roofs and driveways and do a bad job demanding cash up front and many are Irish travellers. NZ has a small population of these, and many are not like this family (The Dorans/Cash) - both of which are Traveller surnames like O'Donagh, Sands and Ward. They speak a language called "Shelta" and live nomadically. DNA wise they are not real Gypsies (Roma) but are 100% ethnically White Irish.
They have been the subject of reality TV programmes like "My big fat Gypsy wedding" and are known for their low levels of education, poor health and short life expectancies (Death in 40s, Miley at 30 had heart medication and was already in old age, the grandad aged 55 would be one of the very oldest and looked like a wizened crone in his 80s). They are frequently abused and called Pikeys and tinkers.
But at the end of the day, they have not been harassed because they are Travellers, but becuase they are a pack of lying scumbags (They have told lie after lie after lie), and trashed our country. It is sad that many other Travellers will have to suffer the stereotyping from these people's behaviour.
