Hello,
I would like to know which line my two East India Company rupees ought to be listed under; one is the "continuous legend" type, while the other is a "divided legend". There are tons of lines and although I tried my best, I was unable to find anything elsewhere to help me.

Thanks!

Not a real expert on India, but the second one looks like WW raised, 28 Berries , large diamonds.

The place to go is the
British India - Victoria page on the Chiefa Coins website.
EDIT: Ooops, maybe not, but there must be another page on the same site... I suppose a page for the East India company...
EDIT 2: ... and
here it is .

I think Cass will have to find out what the exact diameter is of the first coin, because this will determine which mint it's from.
As for the second one, I read
WW S on the neck truncation:
so it would be Madras. And guess what? There is only one line in the catalogue for Madras!

Thanks @Camerinvs!
The first coin's diameter is exactly 31.5mm; it looks like an "Indian head", with no privy marks that I can see on the bow of the reverse.
But for the second coin, maybe it's the photos but I really don't see a "S" after WW.... having compared it to online images of a WWS I don't think it's a Madras coin.

But then, what is this?
I agree, though, that it is not in the same style as with the
W.W.S. signatures I saw online.
