What's the difference between km23.1 and km23.2 and why are the 1870 both km23.1 I have received one that has dot above barth and thought that's what separated the variation, but both variations have same km. Can anyone explain this to me or is the info incorrect
Hi Ogramz. Looks like the difference between 23.1 and 23.2 is the mint mark. 23.1 is the "sword" and 23.2 is "A" Both Dot with and without have the sword mint mark. Hope that helps.
As a youngster, I like to find NZ pre-decimal and foreign coins that had made It's way into circulated coinage.
The thought of holding a object of the past with it's hidden history really intrigued me as a youngster...and still does.
ok thanks yes that explains it well. I see what you're talking about now - difference from 23.1 and 23.2 I was just thinking that dot and no dot would separate variation (say dot .1 no dot .2). What I failed to realize was that the a mintmark and the sword privy was what separated. I was thinking more like each year they had this dot and no dot, but I guess it's only the one year right.
