The date is AH988, where the 9 is partially off flan
to the right I see 911, but that is part of the legend
Sultans of Jaunpur ?
Non est totum quod splendet ut aurum
Rijkdom bestaat niet uit het hebben van veel bezittingen, maar in het hebben van weinig behoeften
PetrusAscanus is on the right track, an Indian sultanate coin, with a date ending in 88. Jaunpur sultanate stopped making coins before 988. Examining the date closely, it looks like it could be a partial 7 in front of the 88.

Following this line of reasoning, matched with a Delhi sultanate billon tanka of Firuz Shah Tughluq, Hadrat Delhi, minted 784-790 and later. Goron & Goenka D476.

Billon is an unspecified mixture of silver and copper. From the appearance this one is high in silver.
