Was wondering if anyone is going to attend the annual central numismatic convention/show in Schaumburg this month. It runs from Wednesday, April 24 to Saturday, April 27. If it is going to be your first time, there are many rows of coin dealers from all over the country, different clubs across the USA, heritage auctions, and the two main coin grading companies. There are modern coins, medieval coins, ancient coins, USA coins, world coins and lots of banknotes form different countries and periods.
Yes it was a shame when it closed. The older guy that used to be there is at the NOISE coin show in palatine every month at a holiday inn. The show opens on the first Sunday of every month. I will send a pm about it if your interested
as for the one in Schaumburg i will look into it.

I actually attend that show from time to time when I have time. I also go to the Itasca location for my supplies when I run low.

Where was I when he had that deal, one of my main focuses is German States
I bought 2 Russian wire money from him at the Palatine show. I was surprised seeing him there because I knew he didn’t like doing shows, but then I passed the what used to be the flee market and saw it was gone.
The flea market closed in late January some very good deals on the last day with no admission fee! I was very happy and surprised to see John at the show. Nice to see him continue his business.
Quote: "ab001"I'll be there Friday afternoon and always ready to meet another collectors.
I’ll be up to meeting, but I don’t know what booth I’ll be at and at what time.
Take a look on my swap list, maybe you 'll find something interesting and we can set the meeting up
I looked at your swap list and I pretty much need all the German States and most of the USSR coins on your list. I don’t know if you will find something in my swap list to make the swap fair.

Just came back, and I had a blast! One of the dealers was terrible though. I asked if he had any world coins, and he took out a 2 pound bag of coins. I tried to make a joke and he didn’t even looked at me. He asked me if I wanted to see it, to which I said yes, half the bag please, to which he gave me a weird look and said “never mind, go away, go!” I don’t know if he wanted me to buy the whole bag or what, but he lost a potential customer and I will never buy anything from him ever again. The sad part is, I know that dealer and he is from the Palatine show.

which one was it?
The first one that usually sits on the right when you walk in the door.
that’s the person who organizes the Palatine and Itaska coin shows.
Oh, didn’t know that. I thought it was that person in the back that never has any coins for sell, only a few albums. Still, that’s not a way to treat potential buyers.
Quote: "KLiao"He mostly has jewerly And 1 or 2 cases of coins in the palatine show
No, it’s not him then. He always comes with his wife and have lots of US coins.
the older guy that was at the flea market?
No. I will check the map from the show and maybe I’ll remember who it was. They always sit right as you walk inside the room on the right (in front of the person that sells loose Morgan dollars for $23ish). The other side of the walkway from the jewelry people.
