I am curious because I don't know anything about these coins: How do you all know these are fake? Don't get me wrong, I don't doubt your opinion, I'm just genuinely curious what features you see on the coins that reveal the fake?

obverse (dragon) = Japanese
reverse outer (top flowers) = Japanese
reverse inner (crossed flags) = Republic of china
such a design of mixing styles/countries = fake/fantasy
(see catalog of ROC/Japan around 1870-1920. they will have different basic design/style.)

Yes. Agree.
I own a few of these fakes for study. It is a common scam in Malaysia many years back when internet is not available. These people only heard of the description of the coin. Never see 1 or touch 1 before. When shown to them, they will believe and pay a high cash for it. I see the owner is from Malaysia. I am still trying to figure out if he inherited or his friend/relatives also experience the same thing with me. My uncle brought it on the road side many years ago believing it was real.
In fact i am little confuse with the Manchurian era as my relatives also says 2 flag. I remember Taiwan also have 2 flags. And the worst part is the 2 flags, no one really know what are the flags contents.
Be kind to people. Sharing is Caring. Collect what you like and not by the Crowd.
To seek for perfection, it is too painful and there is a very high price to pay. To seek for something comfortable is more easy. To seek for nothing is even more easy.
