Hey guys i acquired a 1783 carolus coin i have no idea what value it holds or if its worth anything or a back story of the coin.any info would be appreciated

Hello. Generally it is supposed to be this coin. The exact one is hard to tell with the photos provided but it already looks suspicious. For a better assessment, please tale it out of the capsule and provide photos with a clear background. Weight, diameter, and a silver test could also help in determining authenticity.

It is my opinion that this is a replica. There are simply too many things wrong with it and many letters and features simply don't line up. Improper weight and diameter would be the easier way to determine a replica.

I paid nothing for it i found it in a cleanout job i was doing along with books and books of other coins
