Is this coin fake? [solved]

6 posts • viewed 121 times
Hello,
Could anyone please tell me about this coin- because from the pictures of Numista it shouldn't have those raised bumps on the side of the coin- and the edges of the coins have holes in them as if they have been drilled and those bumps are a result of that. Is it fake?
Thanks in advance and sorry for the bad photos, Jamie.

Looks real. The coin just took some hits on the edge.
has it been gold plated?

I don't think so, I'm no expert but the coin is silver coloured :)
It is called 'ex-mount' as in at one time someone added a loop to either side of it,
to be worn on a necklace or bracelet, and that holder has since been removed.
An example with a more modern shilling, where a weld either side is used to join them >
